Should Your Mars Tenants Join a Local Neighborhood Watch?

Mars Neighborhood Watch SignIt’s highly recommended that you make an active effort to encourage tenants to become involved in the community and that includes relevant community organizations and programs, such as the neighborhood watch. When tenants are occupied in their community, they experience a more safe neighborhood while Mars property owners receive the benefits of low vacancy rates and higher property values.

What is a neighborhood watch?

Neighborhood watch is an outstanding, citizen-led program wherein the members develop themselves, helping with local law enforcement to prevent crime. The National Crime Prevention Council has considered that such programs are one of the most dependable methods to reduce residential crime rates.

In case there is already a neighborhood watch program in your rental property’s neighborhood, we encourage spreading a communication encouraging your tenants to join up. Many renters are happy to contribute their time to a community that meets their needs and reflects their values, and just want that little touch of backing. When tenants are interested in defending the safety of the neighborhood, they are more likely to form positive relationships with community members, stay in the home longer, and keep your investment property from being targeted and maligned by neighbors.

A safe, protected rental home and satisfied tenants are both keys to a successful long-term investment strategy. At Real Property Management Three Rivers, we aim for the greater good alongside property owners and our local community to manage quality rental properties. Our property management experts recognize how vital it is to promote and sustain good relations with neighbors and community leaders. Contact us or call us at 724-804-8254 for more information.
